Principal’s Message

I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Glen Allen High School, home of the Jaguars! I am honored and excited to continue my work at Glen Allen in the position of school principal. It is my great pleasure to serve the Glen Allen community and this school. I look forward to working with the community, students, teachers and staff here as we continue to build on our path of excellence, moving together into the 21st century.

A hallmark of Glen Allen High School is our strong faculty of dedicated and enthusiastic teachers. Sponsoring over 50 clubs, our sports teams, and many community service activities, I encourage each student to take advantage of these opportunities to explore Glen Allen High School beyond the classroom and to engage with the broader community.

One new focus I am introducing this year at Glen Allen High School is the “culture of kindness.” While we can all nurture the culture, it will only take root here if it comes from the hearts of all of us in this school community. Whether it’s writing a note of encouragement, or educating children about having compassion for each other, we can all play a part each day in fostering kindness. I challenge each of us to think of ways we can build that culture, and share and practice those ideas among the students, administrators, teachers, and parents in our community.

Finally, we provide several tools we hope you’ll use to stay connected with your student’s academic and extra-curricular activities. We encourage you to regularly check our school website, the PowerSchool Parent Portal, and be sure follow us on Twitter (@GAHS_Admn).  If you have any additional questions and wish to contact me directly, you may do so by calling (804) 501-3300 or by emailing me at rvdavenp@henrico.k12.va.us.

Again, welcome, and go Jaguars!

Sincerely,

Reginald V. Davenport, Ed.S., Principal
